Meant To Be

I keep having a reoccurring dream,
I wake up every night it’s the same thing.
And I don’t know what for.
I keep seeing the same girl there,
She’s got a pretty face and long blonde hair.
And she’s the one that I adore.

Chorus

Sometimes it seems that in my dreams
Everything’s exactly like it’s supposed to be,
Just like a perfect movie scene.

And I see her and me,
And in my dreams we’re meant to be, yeah,
We’re meant to be.
And I see her and me,
And in my dreams we’re meant to be, yeah,
We’re meant to, we’re meant to be.

If I remember right, she walks on by;
I say “Hello” and she says “Hi”
The rest escapes my memory.
But it seems like we walk hand-in-hand-in-hand
Upon some beach upon some sand,
But it’s all a blur to me.

Chorus

Well, I swear I’ve seen her face before
On some crowded room, some crowded floor,
But I can’t recall when we first met.
Well, I strain to see her face again,
I sometimes see it now and then,
But it seems like more and more like I forget.
Like I forget, like I forget.

Chorus

Brand New Shoes

These shoes are cool.  They make me want to go to school
So all the pretty girls can see me and say that he’s some kind of hotty.
These shoes are sweet.  They make me want to move my feet.
Down the street I will be movin’, and all the people sill say
“Man, I like the way he’s groovin’” With those

Chorus:

Brand-new shoes, got my brand new shoes
I’m the coolest kid in school with my brand new shoes

These shoes are so light Just like Air Jordan™ I will take flight
I’ll run so fast you’ll never see me, with Velcro™ straps I’ll take them
On and off, on and off, anytime they please me.

Chorus

She only likes my shoes – she never truly loved me.
And now I sing the blues; she never even cared.
So if you chance to see her, tell her I don’t need her.
If she thought my other shoes were cool, I got a brand-new pair

And all the stations on the T.V. want rights
To the exclusive story.
And all the girls will scream when they see
And say he’s got some kind of “je ne sais quoi” about me,
But it’s my

Chorus X 2

So if you chance to see her, tell her I don’t need her.
If she thought my other shoes were cool, I got a brand-new pair

Cry

Well, I worry about the little guy who sits inside my chest at night
And wonders if you’ll be back soon, his restless worries from night ‘til noon.
And when the phone rings he jumps up to see if you are calling up
But I can’t stand to see it when his disappointed face, again,
Comes to me for answers why, and I just lay my head down and I

Chorus:

Cry, I cry.  Sometimes the only thing that you can do is
Cry, I cry, and I wonder why she had to say goodbye, I
Cry, cry, cry.

Well, I assure him nothing’s wrong; it’s normal she’s been gone this long
‘Cause if he knew he’d probably die; I always answer with a lie.
But when the sun comes up tomorrow she’ll still be gone away
Sweet sorrow, go away and don’t come back ‘cause I can’t stand the heart attack.
When he comes for answers why, and I just lay my head down and I

Chorus

And in my mind I know it’s true, but I can’t stand to tell it to my heart.
If only we could go back when love’s embers were still burning then
And make a brand new start.

Well, I worry about the little guy who sits inside my chest at night
And wonders if you’ll be back soon, his restless worries from night ‘til noon.
And I can’t stand to see it when his disappointed face, again,
Comes to me for answers why, and I just lay my head down and I

Chorus

My Dandelion

A little yellow flower, as the sunlight showers down on her, you’ll see.
There’s no way you can tame her, you can’t blame her,
It’s like she’s supposed to be – out there in the front yard running free.

Chorus:

My Dandelion, blowing in the wind,
My Dandelion, singing songs and then
I turn around and she’s running free again.
My Dandelion  My Dandelion

If she feels inspired you might find when she is tired she’ll exclaim:
“Oh, let’s not go to sleep; let’s lay out underneath the starry skies and dream”
And if you close your eyes one minute, by the morning light you’ll see

Chorus

And if you want to know the answer
All you have to do is dance with her and ask.
It won’t be long before you find she’s not
The kind of girl who’s just another ordinary blade of grass

Chorus

Lift Me Up

Well, that’s quite a jump from here to there.
Me-oh-my, I do despair.
Take my love and take my fear; don’t let me go too near.

‘Cause it runs wide and it runs deep -
Enough to make a grown man weep.
The stones now shift beneath my feet,
And all the walls are way too steep.

Chorus:

So lift me up so I can stand,
Guide me with Your loving hand,
Sound the war cry; let it ring.
I will conquer anything.
With your Angels by my side
On their mighty wings I will fly.

Well, that’s quite a jump from where I stand.
Me-oh-my, please help me land
On Angels wings so I can be
Free from these fears that fetter me.

‘Cause it runs dark and it runs swift,
Enough to make a grown man drift
The water flows from all the tears I’ve shed
And all the doubts inside my head.

Chorus

If I stumble and I falter,
If I fumble and I fail,
If the devils darkness gathers thick around me and I
Run to no avail,

Chorus

He Knows Karate

Julie was a cute girl, so I though I’d say hi to her in the hall
But I did not realize she had a boyfriend about six and a half feet tall.
And now he’s gonna kill me – rumor has it that I’m dead-meat,
And that he killed three men with one swift kick
Of his size twelve feet.

Chorus:

Yeah, he knows karate and it’s plain to see
He knows karate, just like Bruce Lee,
And he knows my number, he knows my name,
And I will be, it’s plain to see, his punching bag
Will soon be me, he knows karate.
He knows karate.

Well, he’s highly trained in the arts of ninjutsu, kung fu, and taekwondo,
And they say that he’s a triple black belt down at the local dojo.
He fought five other guys in a cage fight
And he left them all half dead.
And he can catch flies with chopsticks and break cinder blocks with his head.

Chorus

I had a dream I was Walker, Texas Ranger™, meets Yoda™ and Darth Vader™
Mix in Miyagi for good measure, and a little Jackie Chan –
And every man would fear my double flying crane-kick;
No one would dare come near.  With victory mine
And Julie by my side the crowd would cheer:

Chorus

Baldy

When we done saw her as a kitten there weren’t no way to resist
She was the cutest of the litter; my wife and I had always wished
For a daughter of our own, but that ain’t what God had planned,
So we got this little kitty here to be the girl we never had.

She was so, so small, and she didn’t have much fur,
So Baldy was the name we picked for her.

Baldy, The greatest cat I’ve ever known
Baldy, She purrs when I get home
And I pray she won’t get hit by a car or stuck up in a tree.
She’s the best darn cat I’ve ever known, Baldy

As she got a little older she grew a nice fur coat to wear.
She even won the first place cat-coat ribbon at the county fair.
So her name didn’t seem to fit her like it did when she was born,
But then we took her down to Kitty Cuts™ when the weather got too warm.

And the barber must have been blind because he chopped off all her fur,
And at least until her hair grew back I remembered why we first named her:

Baldy, The greatest cat I’ve ever known
Baldy, She purrs when I get home
And I pray she won’t get hit by a car, a truck, or an S.U.V,
She’s the best darn cat I’ve ever known, Baldy

Well, I put on my old cowboy boots and I took her to the vet.
She was feeling kind of down and out; it’s a day I won’t forget.
Well they said that she had cancer; she needed chemotherapy,
And after radiation treatment she looks a lot like me

Baldy, The greatest cat I’ve ever known
Baldy, She purrs when I get home
And I tip my cowboy hat to that old cat for always being there for me.
She’s the best darn cat I’ve ever seen
This one goes out to everyone in the Army, Navy, Air Force, and Marines
She’s the best darn cat I’ve ever known
Baldy
God Bless the U.S.A.

How Does Love Feel

Well, I’ve been making changes, and it feels so right.
And though her schedule she says she rearranges
It still feels like I’m falling out of sight.

And so I took a train to find it
And I swore that I would not come back.
But when the line came to the station
I found that I had been going down the wrong track.
I’m not coming back now.

Chorus:

How does love feel?  ‘Cause I do not know.
May be impatient, may be too slow.
To ever believe it could happen to me.
Tell me, how does love feel? ‘Cause I don’t know.
How does love feel?  ‘Cause I don’t know.

It’s a long, long way to heaven,
So let’s not miss the flight.
We could stand in line forever,
But I don’t think I’ll be stayin’ here past tonight.
‘Cause something just ain’t right now.

Chorus

No need for explanations,
I think I’m doin’ fine.
Go on, exceed my expectations, ‘cause I don’t mind.
I’m still doin’ fine.

Chorus x 2

Keep Believing

I believe in love at first sight, I believe that everything will be all right.
Maybe I’m a dreamer.
I believe in storybook stories, that there’s a page written in there for me.
Maybe I’m a fool.

But I believe it’s darkest right before the dawn,
And something inside me says keep holding on.

Chorus:

And I’m going to keep believing.
I’m going to keep believing.

I believe I won’t fall behind if I keep running then I’ll come to find
Something worth fighting for
I’ve heard their lies about how everything worthwhile eventually dies;
I think they’re wrong.

But I believe it’s darkest right before the dawn,
And something inside me says keep holding on.

Chorus

Well, I believe in magic, I believe in love, and I believe in Angels sent from above.
And I believe in Family, and I believe in friends, and I believe that miracles happen again.

Chorus x 2

Beep Beep Beep

When I first saw her sitting there, I did not know how much trouble she could be.
That was when she belonged to my friend; now she belongs to me.
She looks good from the front.  She looks real, real, real good from behind.
She’s got lots of really, really, really nice curves;
That’s the car I drive.

Chorus:

Going, “beep, beep, beep”, going, “zoom, zoom, zoom”
Ain’t gonna get there fast, ain’t gonna get there soon.
But it works for me, it gets me around,
That’s the car I drive all around the town.

She’s kind of like a woman; a little unpredictable;
A little temperamental, and a little hard to control,
And the owners manual? It’s all messed up;
It don’t make no sense to me.
‘Cause what is says she do and what she do are
Two different things completely.

Chorus

And even though she’s so high-maintenance
And she’s always breakin’ down,
And all my friends keep telling me that she’s
Getting’ around, I’m gonna stick by my baby
That’s right, through thick and through the thin
At least until tomorrow, ‘cause that’s when I’m
Tradin’ her in

Chorus

One Of Thoes Guys

Well, he’s one of those guys, one of those too-young better-than-you know-it-all kind
Who always tries to say the word “fascist” as much as he can or any other big
political words that he thinks he understands.
Well, he’s one of those guys that when you fail to see it his way he inevitably cries
“Racism Bigotry Intolerance” – whatever fits the bill ‘til they pass a law to take God out of everything up on Capitol Hill.

Chorus:

And you can see him on T.V. spouting off his rhetoric on some late-night talk show,
And his words aren’t making sense to someone like me, I guess I’m just an
Average ordinary middle-class American Joe.

Well, he’s one of those guys who thought cool things were cool before they were cool
And he defies the mainstream media ‘cause it’s brainwashing all the masses and
He likes to view the world through his friends Hollywood sunglasses.

Chorus

He denies that right is right ‘cause wrong’s only a relative decision and he
Rocks the Vote™ on Music Television™ he’s so keen.
He’s always jumping on the latest-greatest next new hip political bandwagon
And he likes to listen to his own tongue on the waggin’, you’ll see what I mean?
Look up on the screen

Chorus

How Could I

How could I have forgotten you for so long?
And now I’m singing this same sad song.
Please forgive me of my wrong.

How could I turn my back on a friend,
Even though your loving spirit you always send
And you’ll be with me ‘til the end.

Chorus:

O Lord I know you’re with me every single day,
And sometimes it seems so easy to forget.
So I hope that you’ll have mercy and accept my humble prayer.
And please don’t give up on me yet.

How could I forget that you are over all,
As I stumble, as I fall, please help me to stand tall.

Chorus

How could I be so blind to see
All the blessings that you’ve given me?

Chorus
