Don't Leave Me Lonely

Can’t you see I’ve been looking
For a girl just like you
And I’ve been saving up all of my kisses
For someone to give them to
And you know I’ve been waiting
For a girl so fine
I would give you all my affection
Yeah, I want to make you all mine
And I hope you feel the same way I do
Nothing can change the way I feel about you
Please don’t leave me

Lonely, lonely, lonely, lonely
Don’t leave me lonely, lonely, lonely, lonely

Every day I’ve been dreaming
We could fly away
We could leave all our troubles behind us
Laughing and walking hand in hand all day
And I hope you feel the same way I do
Nothing can change the way I feel about you
Please don’t leave me

Lonely, lonely, lonely, lonely
Don’t leave me lonely, lonely, lonely, lonely

Don’t leave me sad and lonely
Don’t leave me feeling blue
Don’t leave me wondering what life would be without you
Please don’t leave me

Lonely, lonely, lonely, lonely
Don’t leave me lonely, lonely, lonely, lonely

Last Man Standing

He’s got a need for speed
You better believe
He was born to achieve
A spot at the top
He'll Never Stop
He’s got a single eyed vision like a Cyclops
He’s gonna set the new world record
Don’t underestimate him yet
‘cause he will get
the first place prize
leave you behind
like a supersonic jet

he’ll be the last man standing
he’ll be number one
the first one to finish
when the race is won
he won’t melt under pressure
or be outrun
he’ll be the last man standing
he’ll be number one

there’s a light within
that burns and yearns
and it begins
and it starts stirring
up a revolution, an evolution
it’s time to start searching now for a new solution
and ignite the light, like he was born to fight
‘cause he’s set his sight
bright like the sun
let the noon day come
nobody can deny it he’ll be number one

he’ll be the last man standing
he’ll be number one
the first one to finish
when the race is won
he won’t melt under pressure
or be outrun
he’ll be the last man standing
he’ll be number one

Stop
Go

the predispostion to lose
is a condition, it’s a failure to prove
a premonition waiting to come true
it’s like shooting at a target with no ammunition
you knew
you were through
when the superstition came true
out of commission, tell you what you do
put on your running shoe
don’t give up the pole position

he’ll be the last man standing
he’ll be number one
the first one to finish
when the race is won
he won’t melt under pressure
or be outrun
he’ll be the last man standing
he’ll be number one

Please Be Mine

I’ve never felt like this before
I’ve never know my heart could soar
I’ve never know what I now know
I never knew how much I’d need you don’t go, go, go

I’ve never known a love so true
As the love I’ve found in you
I’ve never seen me act this way
I never knew how much I’d need you please stay, stay, stay

So Please be mine, one more time, and I’ll be fine
Please be mine, one more time, and I’ll be fine

I never meant to be so blind
meant to be unkind I never
Please be mine I promise to
I’ll never leave again if I have you, you, you

So Please be mine, one more time, and I’ll be fine
Please be mine, one more time, and I’ll be fine

I Don’t know just what to say to make you change your mind
Seems like I’ve asked you now at least a thousand times
Oh can’t you see, I am lost without you, stumble and I fall
I’m begging please, please, please

So Please be mine, one more time, and I’ll be fine
Please be mine, one more time, and I’ll be fine

All I Need

I’ve been to new york city central park
then headed out to upstate lake champlain
crossed up to montreal and heard a band playing mandolins
while we were standing in the rain
I’ve seen castle walls and waterfalls
and bridges spanning over Venetian waterways
backpack summer drifting through the mountains
filled with European hostel stays

but all I need is you, here, falling in my arms
and me, there, subject to your charms
and I don’t know if I have ever felt this way before
all I need is you

I’ve sailed out in the san Francisco bay
And I’ve seen fireworks light up the night
I’ve Eaten dinner with good friends
Authentic Mexican patio dining in the moonlight
I’ve Spent days skiing sunny powdered peaks
And hiking up to zions where the angels land
I’ve Dropped off cliffs into the crystal blue
And I’ve set up tents on golden sand

but all I need is you, here, falling in my arms
and me, there, subject to your charms
and I don’t know if I have ever felt this way before
all I need is you

I’ve been all over the rocky mountains
Splashed in England’s hyde park fountains
Seen denali rising up at three A.M.
Watched the wind blow through the red wood forest
Heard the tabernacle chorus
singing songs like angels do in heaven

but all I need is you, here, falling in my arms
and me, there, subject to your charms
and I don’t know if I have ever felt this way before
all I need is you

So

It’s the guitar that played the song
That wooed the woman
That broke his heart
That made him love her in the first place
That’s why he fell apart
But it’s the things he had to say
That made him fear that made him fail
That made him wish that he had said them
That he was with her there

so, that’s the way things go
Sometimes you realize there’s no way to rewind
She’s gone and you can’t find her
You know, that’s the way things go, sometimes

It’s the promise that he made
That he would call her that he broke
That left her standing on the balcony
To watch the stars alone
But it’s the number that was right
That he wrote wrong
That he called time and time again
That left him wandering with flowers in his hands

so, that’s the way things go
Sometimes you realize there’s no way to rewind
She’s gone and you can’t find her
You know, that’s the way things go, sometimes

It’s the voice he had to follow
He thought belonged to her that she
was singing from a window
that overlooked the sea
but It’s the road that he was on
that she was not
that he forgot
that made her think that he had left her
when really he had not

so, that’s the way things go
Sometimes you realize there’s no way to rewind
She’s gone and you can’t find her
You know, that’s the way things go, sometimes

10,000 Lakes

Ten thousand lakes of oceanless water
ten thousand churches to worship the father
sometimes I think that I will make I there
sometimes I believe, sometimes I don’t care
ten thousand jewels taken by the thief
ten thousand times they shake there head in disbelief
see they don’t see the future, they don’t see the past
they’re just living life to live in, they’re not living life to last

so give me eyes to see
to perceive, to believe, to imagine the possibility
the possibilities

ten thousand words spoken by the action
ten thousand times they never print the retraction
maybe I’ll find it, the signs are everywhere
maybe if I would I could, but maybe I don’t dare
ten thousand soldiers circumvent the shore
and all the politicians try to reinvent the war
and it won’t make a difference, it won’t matter none
because it does no good to speak up when the war’s already won

so give me eyes to see
to perceive, to believe, to imagine the possibility
the possibilities
ten thousand lakes and all along the beaches
lie the truths that lead to what he teaches
sometimes I hold it, but it falls from my hand
slipping through my fingers, like ten thousand grains of sand
so cross my heart and hope to die
stick ten thousand needles in my eye
see the first is just the worst and all the rest are just the same
but eventually it numbs you and you cannot feel the pain

so give me eyes to see
to perceive, to believe, to imagine the possibility
the possibilities

If You Could Live A Different Life

Charlie headed out on highway 101 today
Drove an old Cadillac with California plates
None of the orderlies knew at 3 A.M.
That they would never see old Charlie again
And nobody from his family ever knew
That he was feeling oh so, so, so blue
They packed his bags and left him there

Salvador had a dream the other night
Crossed the river in the rain by the pale moon light
None of the border guards knew at 3 A.M.
That they would never see Salvador again
And when his mother came in she found a note
Fell to her knees and exclaimed a mi dios
Please bless my child on his way

If you could live a different life would you
If you could live a different life could you
If you could live a different life would you, could you, would you

Out the window rosa ran to anywhere
Tired of explaining how she’d only fallen down the stairs
And Rosa’s father did not know at 3 A.M.
That he would never see his own daughter again
She ran faster than the black and blue
Ran faster that his two fists flew
And she swore she’d never see his face again

If you could live a different life would you
If you could live a different life could you
If you could live a different life would you, could you, would you

And in a vision somewhere there’s an ocean
And waiting there’s a boat to sail
And sometimes I feel I’ve a notion
That I’m already there
And in a vision somewhere there’s a mountain
And on the top a plane to fly
And if I had the strength to reach the summit
Then I would try before I die

If you could live a different life would you
If you could live a different life could you
If you could live a different life would you, could you, would you

My Life

I’ve tried to civil, I’ve tried to be nice
Well I can take it maybe once or twice now
But I can only turn the other cheek for so long
There comes a time when I’ve got to be strong
Sometimes you gotta sit back and take a little more
But this time I’ll stand up and be accounted for

Cause it’s my life and I will fight
I’ve got my back against the wall this is a do or die time
I haven’t come this far just to throw in the towel now
And you can mark my words
cause it’s my life and I will fight
there’s nothing you can say or do to make me change my mind
sometimes wrong is wrong and right is right
and I will fight yeah

I believe in being patient, I believe in love
But I believe in pushing back when push comes to shove
I’m tired of all this good cop bad cop bull crap
It’s time to sit down and shut your big yap yeah
That’s right I’m declaring war
It’s time to stand up and be accounted for

Cause it’s my life and I will fight
I’ve got my back against the wall this is a do or die time
I haven’t come this far just to throw in the towel now
And you can mark my words
cause it’s my life and I will fight
there’s nothing you can say or do to make me change my mind
sometimes wrong is wrong and right is right
and I will fight yeah

you can try to break my legs to run
and my will to live
you can try to take my heart to love
and my spirit to give
you can try to hold me down
try to break my back
but there’s nothing gonna change my mind now
I will return with my counterattack

Cause it’s my life and I will fight
I’ve got my back against the wall this is a do or die time
I haven’t come this far just to throw in the towel now
And you can mark my words
cause it’s my life and I will fight
there’s nothing you can say or do to make me change my mind
sometimes wrong is wrong and right is right
and I will fight yeah

Lonely Person

She’s a very lonely person
Standing on the corner
Eating dinner in the restaurant
She’s just looking for a friend
She acts like she has seen you before
But you don’t know he she is
She’s a very lonely person
A broken heart to mend

There ain’t gonna be no Christmas cards
Ain’t gonna be no birthday balloons
Ain’t gonna be no turkey dinner waiting at thanksgiving
No flowers they’ll send
And There ain’t gonna be no friendly calls to just say hi
But she’s waiting by the phone
She’s very lonely person
Just looking for a friend

Now she’s walking down the parkway
Feeding all the pigeons
She’s hiding in the shadows
In the middle of the day
She’s sitting on the park bench waiting for someone she knows
But they all just pass her by
She’s a very lonely person
Just not sure what to say

there ain't gonna be no Christmas cards
Ain’t gonna be no birthday balloons
Ain’t gonna be no turkey dinner waiting at thanksgiving
No flowers they’ll send
And There ain’t gonna be no friendly calls to just say hi
But she’s waiting by the phone
She’s very lonely person
Just looking for a friend

there ain't gonna be no Christmas Cards
Ain’t gonna be no birthday balloons
Ain’t gonna be no turkey dinner waiting at thanksgiving
No flowers they’ll send
And There ain’t gonna be no friendly calls to just say hi
But she’s waiting by the phone
She’s very lonely person
Just looking for a friend

Be The One

Well I don’t know how many times I’ve tried
To tell her of the feelings I have deep inside
But this girl’s got me so I cannot speak
And when I know she’s near me how my knees get week
Why can’t I shout it to the world

I want to be the one to hold her
I want to be the one who cares
And when she reaches for somebody there
I want to be the one

Well I’ve laid the plan out in my mind
I’ve called her up at least a hundred thousand times
But this girl’s got me when I’m on the line
The words I mean to say are not the ones I find
Why can’t I shout it to the world

I want to be the one to hold her
I want to be the one who cares
And when she reaches for somebody there
I want to be the one

When all the world comes crashing down around
Who’s gonna be the one she’ll hold to
Who’ll be the one who cares
When all the darkness gathers to confound
Who’s gonna be the one she’ll hold to
Keep her warm when it gets cold to
Be the one that she comes home to
Be the last man standing there

I want to be the one to hold her
I want to be the one who cares
And when she reaches for somebody there
I want to be the one

Corndogs

When I was a boy I walked in to this store
I think they call it the seven eleven
I saw something underneath the glass
It looked just like manna straight from heaven
I asked the clerk behind the counter what was in ‘em
He said it’s just one of life’s little mysteries
But I knew my love for corn dogs was surely destiny

Corn dogs, corn dogs they are so good to me
Corn dogs, corn dogs they are so good to me
Good when they’re hot, good when they’re cold
Good when they’re fresh, good when they’re old
Corn dogs, corn dogs. They are so good to me

I had a date with my girlfriend
But I was feeling just a little bit down on my luck
But then I heard they were selling corn dogs
down at the corner store, three for a buck
Then the realization came, it was just a test for me to see
That if my girl don’t like corn dogs, she ain’t the girl for me

Corn dogs, corn dogs they are so good to me
Corn dogs, corn dogs they are so good to me
Good when they’re hot, good when they’re cold
Good when they’re fresh, good when they’re old
Corn dogs, corn dogs. They are so good to me

You can eat corn dogs for breakfast
You could even eat corn dogs for lunch
They make a mighty, mighty fine dinner
And they make a pretty darn good brunch
I say there is no meal complete without a ginormous hugegantic
Heaping helping of corn dogs sitting there on your plate
And you might die of a heart attack
But they still taste real great

Corn dogs, corn dogs they are so good to me
Corn dogs, corn dogs they are so good to me
Good when they’re hot, good when they’re cold
Good when they’re fresh, good when they’re old
Corn dogs, corn dogs. They are so good to me
